How to Photograph Your Apparel

To ensure your items look their absolute best for buyers, consistency is key. Please follow these simple guidelines when capturing your pieces:

Tops and Bottoms: Lay each item completely flat on a clean surface. Take two clear, well-lit photos for every piece: one straight-on front-facing shot and one back-facing shot.
Dupattas: Hang dupattas gracefully from a secure hook, rod, or hanger so the full length, pattern, and drape are visible.

How to Measure for Your Listing

Accurate measurements are the key to a successful sale on Didi’s Closet. By providing precise details, you help buyers shop with confidence and reduce the likelihood of returns. Please use a flexible tailor’s tape measure to ensure your listing is as accurate as possible.

For all garments, we recommend taking measurements on a flat surface (garment laid out) rather than on the body.

Tops (Blouse, Langa Blouse, Kameez, and Saree Blouse)

Bust (A): Lay the garment flat. Measure across the front, from underarm seam to underarm seam. Multiply this measurement by two for the full bust circumference. Keep the tape measure parallel to the floor.
Hips (B): For longer garments like a kameez, lay it flat and measure across the hip area (typically 7-9 inches below the waist). Multiply by two for the full hip circumference.
Waist (C): Lay the garment flat. Measure across the narrowest part of the bodice. Multiply by two for the full waist circumference.
Length (D): Measure from the highest point of the shoulder (where the seam meets the collar) straight down to the hemline.

Bottoms (Langa/Lehenga Skirt, Petticoat, Churidars, Pants, and Palazzos)

Waist (A): Lay the garment flat. Measure across the entire waistband opening. Multiply this measurement by two for the full waist circumference. This is typically where the garment is intended to sit (e.g., lower on the hips for a petticoat, natural waist for pants).
Length (B): Measure from the top of the waistband straight down the side seam to the bottom hem of the garment.
Hips (C): Lay the garment flat. Measure across the fullest part of the hip area (typically 7-9 inches below the waistband). Multiply by two for the full hip circumference. (Note: This measurement is often critical for churidars and fitted pants).
